Directed towards administrators, educators and parents, "Mindfulness in Schools - Educating and Empowering Our Children" is an oral/power point presentation that serves as an introduction to the importance of mindfulness in our schools. Participants will experience hands-on mindfulness techniques appropriate for ages 3-18. The presentation will include information on the background and history of mindfulness, as well as its connections to neuroscience and current research. Workshop attendees will benefit from reflecting on the powerful impact that mindful awareness brings to the classroom and home, positively affecting every child, everywhere.
Designed for adults and adolescents, "Un-plugged Stress-Free Mindfulness Workshop" serves as an introduction to the importance of mindfulness in our daily lives. Participants will learn about the history, neuroscience and research connected to mindfulness work, experience mindful listening techniques in conversation, and participate in several stress-reduction exercises.
"Cultivating Joy and Recognizing Gratitude" is a participatory workshop that explores ways we care for and think about our own bodies and minds. Attendees explore mindful eating, loving-kindness meditation and mindful movement. Enjoy this workshop as you continue to develop self-awareness, compassion and appreciation for yourself, your connections with others and the ways in which we all experience our environment.
6-Week Mini-Mindfulness Course
This mini-course is designed for executives and professionals in the workplace. Sessions will be brief, interactive, introductory 15-minute mindfulness lessons that offer stress-reduction tools for personal and professional life. Each session will build upon another, but participants may join and attend as they are able. This mini-course draws from the Mindful Schools curriculum with topics that include: * Mindful Listening in Conversation * "Anchor Breathing" - Developing Concentration * Identifying Responses Versus Reactions - Cultivating Self-Control and Choice * Secular Meditation Practice - Stress-Reduction * Mindful Eating - Self-Regulation *Gratitude - Developing a Habit of Appreciation
9 Week Course
This course draws from the Mindful Schools curriculum and meets for an hour each week. Each class includes: check-ins, settling techniques, time for reflection, group discussion and stress-reduction practices. Weekly topics include: * Mindful listening in conversation * Assumptions and investigating identity * Exploring responses vs. reactions * Mindful eating * Exploring thoughts as they relate to past, present and future * Mindful awareness of space and environment * Mindful movement and Body awareness * Self-Compassion * Gratitude and Appreciation
